Hand and Machine was founded in 2013, by award-winning furniture designer, maker Ben Croft. The Hand and Machine workshop is located in the market town of Pocklington on the outskirts of York. At the heart of Hand and Machine is a belief in creating high quality furniture in an honest and committed fashion, every time. We offer our clients the opportunity to commission beautifully crafted furniture, made using long-held traditional craft techniques combined with a clean, modern design aesthetic.

We are committed to using sustainably sourced hardwoods and decorative hardwood veneers sourced locally from Ripon and from our specialist contacts across the UK. Wherever possible, we partner with other local craftsmen and women such as upholsterers, blacksmiths, polishers and glaziers.
